This past week, something pretty incredible happened — I had the huge honor of being interviewed by Tom Rosenbauer on the Orvis Fly Fishing Podcast.

For those of you who know me, you know how much I admire Tom and the work he’s done for the fly fishing community. He’s one of the most respected voices in our world — a true educator, mentor, and storyteller. His books, articles, and podcasts have helped shape generations of anglers. So when I got the invitation to be a guest on his show… I was floored.

In the episode, we talked about what it really means to be a guide — not just putting people on fish, but creating meaningful experiences on the water. We got into the details of teaching techniques, building confidence in beginners, and the small things that can make a big difference in someone’s day on the river. We also shared a few laughs and stories (of course), and talked about what it takes to keep growing, learning, and loving this sport, season after season.

I won’t lie — hearing my name on that intro gave me goosebumps.

This interview meant a lot to me. It’s not every day you get to share your thoughts and philosophy with such a wide audience, and I’m deeply grateful to Tom and the entire Orvis team for the opportunity.
